5 Ways To Save Money On Haircuts

I haven’t paid for a haircut in years. I probably saved a couple hundred dollars over the years on haircare. Here’s how I saved money on haircuts.

Cut your own hair. I’ve cut my own hair most of the time since 1999. My kid sister cuts her own hair too. If we could do it, you can too. That is, unless we’re some sort of haircut wonder twins…

Buzz your head. How was I able to cut my own hair? I’ve buzzed my head. Not all the way like Vin Diesel. I just buzzed it so it was the same length all around.

Enlist your kid sister. If you have a sister (or friend) who’s decent at cutting hair. Throw them a nickel and command (or politely ask) them to cut your hair.

Bargain with the barber. I have a friend who would try to bargain with the person cutting his hair before he sat down in the chair. It doesn’t hurt to ask for a discount. Make sure the place is empty though. If it’s crowded, there’s no way you’re getting a discount. Also, I don’t think this will work in the chain barber shops like Supercuts.

Grow your hair out. I decided to grow my hair out in July and since then, I’ve avoided haircuts. My hair is out of control and I look like a Beatle BUT now I don’t have to buy a hat for winter.

Saving money. Rock and roll.
